KEY FACTS & INFORMATION ABOUT EMBROIDERY ON CAPS

We don’t screen print onto caps or heat press transfer prints onto custom caps, we embroider directly into the fabric of the cap whether your design is on the front back or sides of the cap.

CAP EMBROIDERY DESIGN

Remember to size your design down to the size it will embroider to see how the elements of your design will display. Embroidery is a ‘low res medium’ as it uses thread and fabric, small detail will not embroider well. Ideal lettering should not go below 8mm high and serif styled fonts at this size need to be thickened up.

SNAPBACK & ADJUSTABLE

Snapback caps have a plastic adjuster at the rear of the cap. Other adjustable caps have velcro (rip strip) or buckle style adjuster to fit a wide range of sizes.

5 PANEL vs 6 PANEL CAPS

6 Panel caps are made up of 6 panels to fit round the head. This means the cap has two panels that meet on the front of the cap causing a seem with a slight indent. This can sometimes effect your design when embroidering over this area on a 6 Panel cap. 5 panel caps don’t have this join on the front panel, which makes for a smoother embroidery.

FLEXFIT CAPS

Flexfit caps have an elasticated crown to fit snugly on the head. Some brands of caps come in various sizes.

Our skilled team of in-house digitisers get to work on creating the file that our machines can read to stitch onto your chosen hat

Our embroidery team get to work on sewing out the first sample file onto flat fabric. Once we are happy that the results meet our high standards, we pass the file over to our production team.

FRONT EMBROIDERY AREA

The area from embroidering the front of cap varies from cap to cap. Some caps have higher and wider front panels to work with and hoop on our machines. Work within 155mm wide x 65mm high.

BACK CAP AREA ONE

To give an idea for embroidering on the back snap back caps we have illustrated 2 areas in Red and Yellow. The Yellow section is 50mm wide x 65mm high.

BACK CAP AREA TWO

The second back cap embroidery the red section is 95mm wide x 30mm high. You can curve your text around the arch of the snapback for example a web address or statement.

SIDE CAP EMBROIDERY

Side Cap Embroidery can work on the left and right hand side. If you would like your design to sit in between the side panel work with 65mm wide and 55mm high.
